OUR experience & process
set us apart
The first step in the Turf Installation process is to kill the sod, remove 3-4″ and cover any sprinklers.
The next step is to compact the lawn so that the turf and installation materials can be laid down smoothly and properly.
After the weed barrier is in place, the turf is rolled out onto the lawn.
Nails are then applied 18-24″ apart throughout the lawn and every 2-3″ around the perimeter to hold the turf in place.
The second step is to prepare the lawn for compacting. This is done by leveling out the lawn and ensuring that it will drain properly.
The ground is then covered by a weed barrier to prevent any weeds from growing through the turf’s surface.
The turf is then cut to fit the lawn and a seam is planned to install the turf as clean as possible.
Infill is then added to the turf and a broom roller is used to distribute the infill evenly.

What is "Artifical Grass"?
What is Synthetic Turf?
Well, it is the same as 'Artificial Grass', just using a different name. The latest generation of synthetic turf is a grass-like ground cover that replicates lush natural grass in appearance and function. When used on athletic fields, it provides a consistent year-round, all-weather playing surface built to withstand extended use without downtime for recovery. As a landscape cover, synthetic turf provides a low maintenance surface that doesn't need to be watered or fertilized, and is available in styles that look like the grass types that are prevalent locally.
HOW IS SYNTHETIC TURF MADE?
Most synthetic turf systems installed today include a drainage layer, a multi-layered backing system, and resilient "grass" blades that are infilled with a granular filler to resemble natural turf. "Infilled" means that the man-made grass blades are interspersed with a top soil created with sand and/or other infill materials that provide the necessary stability, uniformity, and resiliency. Each blade customarily stands above the infill material. The typical blade length and system characteristics are determined by the specific activity requirements. In some applications, the synthetic turf system includes a pad or elastic layer underneath the turf, often in combination with lower pile height and less infill.
Cory and the crew at Turf Exchange did a great job on the artificial turf around our pool. It looks fantastic and will be super safe for our little ones as they can’t help themselves from running around. We just had our home and our pool built so there was only rough dirt and lots of leveling…
We had Mitch out a couple of years ago when we first thought about putting in artificial turf in our backyard. Fast forward two years and called again and spoke with Cory, Mitch’s son. We decided to go ahead and not only do the backyard but the entire front, side, and backyard! We are so happy…
The yard is gorgeous and the grass is perfect. As a contractor for over 40 years, I never look for cheap – I look for (and pay for) quality and we got that from Turf Exchange and I would highly recommend them – the “grass” looks and feels natural and we couldn’t be more…

I spoke with a lot of companies before I selected Turf Exchange. What won me over was their level of detail and commitment to quality. I appreciated the family-run business as well. Before the installation, my wife was a bit skeptical of having turf put in (she envisioned putting greens and just poo…
